There are 66 awards to be won at the once-a-year event, probably the largest award-giving date in the porn world calendar, and everyone in the industry is after one of the gongs. Back in 2021, Adulttime brought home four XBIZ Awards and seven AVN awards, including the XBIZ ‘Paysite of the Year’ accolade (which this year went to Brazzers). The company is no stranger to picking up trophies. Also in 2021, Adulttime won the XBIZ Europa award for ‘Global Web Brand of the Year, and at the same ceremony, Rocco Siffredi picked up two for his work in gonzo porn.
So, what is it about Adulttime that makes it so deserving of these great prizes?

To start us off, the award for the All-Girl Movie of the Year went to ‘Sweet Sweet Sally Mae,’ an Adulttime exclusive directed by Ricky Greenwood. This isn’t just another lesbian porn flick. ‘Sweet Sweet Sally Mae’ is described as ‘a girl-girl homage to 70s exploitation cinema,’ and it features top names in its cast, including Ana Foxxx in the title role, and Valentina Nappi. When you view it, the production qualities demanded by Greenwood are apparent, and you can imagine you’re watching a Hollywood production that’s in line for an Oscar. That might sound too grand, but don't worry, there’s plenty of lesbian sex.
Keeping to that theme, Adulttime’s next award was for the All-Girl Series of the Year, and that one went to ‘True Lesbian.’ This series is an erotic lesbian anthology inspired by real lesbian sex, and features beautiful women in episodes that are story-based, cinematic, and, of course, sexy. Adulttime’s third award was also for their lesbian porn work, and takes us back to ‘Sweet Sweet Sally Mae’, which included the Best Sex Scene-All Girl. The scene was between Ana Foxxx and Scarlit Scandal who have been described as a pair of black panthers. Ana has been a Playboy model and won her first XBIZ Award in 2017, appearing with Manuel Ferrara in ‘Black Anal Asses’ and winning in the best gonzo category. The following year, she won for Best Sex Scene in a production by Wicked Pictures, which goes to prove how versatile she is.
Moving on from lesbian-themed porn sweeping the boards for Adulttime, the company won its fourth award for Best Editing. The XBIZ awards are not given out solely for the sexy side of porn, the models or directors. Those in less glamorous roles are also honoured, as in the case of Best Editing.
Editing isn’t just about sitting at a monitor cutting and pasting film clips all night long. A good editor needs to understand pace and timing, and must appreciate the overall feel of the movie. In this case, that movie was ‘Casey: A true Story’, and Adulttime describes it as “based on the true story of award-winning adult performer, Casey Kisses. A ‘coming of identity’ story that shines an important light on the unique experience of transitioning and why sharing real stories is a first step towards overcoming real stigmas.” So, we’re not just looking at porn; we have a story, and an important one at that, and putting that together in the editing suite takes professionalism as well as technical knowhow and patience.
That’s the good thing about the XBIZ Awards; they don't just look at the sex, stars and studios, they also look at those behind the cameras, from technicians on set to the web designers. It’s not just about size either. Adulttime might be the largest porn collection on the net, and growing at the rate of eight releases per day, but there isn’t an award for that.
